More File Sharing Sites You Might Come Across

Yesterday, I organized a list of some of the most commonly found file sharing sites online. Today, let’s carry out the topic again and break it down further. There’s a whole slew of them out there and while they may be hosting files for you, little do you realize that sometimes, the big sites can’t do all the work so these sites below become alternatives.

Sharing Matrix – Here’s a clean site. Just choose your account type. Free or Premium? Chose your option and wait for a minute. The time will tick down and when it’s done, there will be a captcha prompt for you to input. Your file will then be available as a link to download. The process was fast, easy and very neat. It’s a Thumbs Up!

Deposit Files – This site is very similar to Sharing Matrix. You’ll have to choose your preference, wait and then click on the download button. Most forums or download sites will carry a lot of these links so if you do come across them, know that they’re on the good list. Plus the site is clean and very well organized. This is a big Thumbs Up!

Uploading – I got fooled with the question that popped up from the page. So I answered it and it led me elsewhere unrelated to what I wanted. I clicked back, scrolled down the page below and chose the free user option. Waited a minute, clicked the Free Download button and saved the file to my hard drive. The question that fooled me was still waiting for me to answer it again. I felt annoyed from it and wonder if anyone else has gotten fooled into answering it as well. That’s tricky so it’s a Thumbs Down!

Mangoshare – Choose your account type. For me that’s regular. There are a lot of pop-ups here so make sure your browser is set to block incoming, unwanted advertisements. Once you’ve waited for a minute, you need to enter the captcha code and click on the Create Download Link button. A visible link will then be available in the following page letting you know it will be available for 24 hours. If you need to share it, do so but I wouldn’t recommend it. Just save your stuff and share it through one of the big sites from yesterday’s post. For a lot of work and little gain this site is Thumbs Down!

Fileserve – Scroll to the bottom of the page and choose your account type. As a free user, your button will say slower download. Input the captcha code. Wait for at least 30 seconds. Click on the slower download button again. Your file should now be ready for download. While this contradiction in slow and download was obvious, I felt persuaded to choose something I didn’t want so as long as the free edition is still available, I’ll stick to it. However it’s good and gets the work done so Thumbs Up!

GotFile – There’s a lot of animations here. So find your choices. Before you choose Free Download make sure you input the captcha code. Waiting time would then be about 17 seconds. Click the green download arrow button. Wait again as your file is being prepared. If it doesn’t load anytime soon, just click the here link and your file will be available immediately. There’s a lot of barriers here and not worth the time spent to get what you want. Obviously, they want you to check out their advertisements but as you pick up on that, it’s just not worth the wait. For these reasons, this site is a Thumbs Down!

Sendspace – Like the rest, you’ll want to chose your account option. Scroll down as a free user and click on the download button. Your file will then be ready for download. There’s no waiting, no timers ticking and no captcha. Like Sharing Matrix, this site is sweet and simple. You get what you want without all the hassle. It gets a Thumbs Up!

Hosting File Free – The first thing I noticed was the congruency between the domain name and site name. It’s not aligned! While I know it’s hosting the file FREE, this right away alerts me to raise the red flag for fishy practice. Like all the rest, there’s a timer here. However, it’s so small you need to peek in close to the screen in order to see that it’s smack right in the center ticking away. After a minute, the download button appears which you can retrieve your file. I’m not a big fan of illusions so it gets a Thumbs Down!

Freakshare – I was looking for account type button to start but once you’re on the page, the timer starts ticking away like a bomb. Then you get your download button. There’s a prompt to input the captcha code and your file is available for you to save to your hard drive. I guess it’s called freakshare for a reason because I was kind of scared. Again, no games, just give me the stuff, free and clear. For these reasons, it’s a Thumbs Down!

Oron – I chose the regular download and had to wait for a minute to get the file. You’ll notice the red text in the middle of the site with a timer counting down. While this was happening, I glanced below and noticed the pricing of the available plans for membership. There were three plans so it made my time passed quickly just to see the difference. You have to input the captcha code next and click on the download file link to get your file. This site looks like it’s running on a lot of scripts so I’m kind of worried about purchasing anything from them. However, I don’t mind the freebie. Still it’s a Thumbs Down!

Rapid Gator – Choose your account type, scroll down to the middle and you’ll see the timer ticking. This seems to be a Czech or Russian site so ads will have foreign characters next to them. Once the ticker is done, input your captcha and a link will be available for you to click on for download. But hurry, it’s only available for 300 seconds. Again this is almost loaded with scripts that may be out of dated or old fashion like Oron so I’ll steer away from it unless you really need the file. For me that’s a Thumbs Down!

Kewlshare – I noticed a pop-up but my browser blocked it. Now just like the others you’re going to have to choose the account type. Most of the time this is free or regular. You’ll need to scroll down in order to see the big Free Download button. This site is very pop-up intensive so you’ll want to steer clear. Now to make it worst, the download button is in the middle of the screen. I was kind of hesitant to click on anything because they all seem like advertisements. But nonetheless it’s there. Once you got it, you can save your file to your hard drive. With too much distraction and work, this site is a Thumbs Down!

Up File – While I was waiting to choose the account type, all I saw was a line asking for a password. Don’t be fooled, go on over to the right of the tabs and select FREE. Still, the download the file button is not active so you either got to pay or leave. I left. This site is a Thumbs Down!

As you’ll notice from the file sharing sites reviewed and the sites here today, the deeper you go into the obscure, the work is more. Most of the time, these sites will be running hacked scripts or they’re not properly managed so the advertisements will be more obtrusive. If you don’t mind the push and shoving for a minute or two to get something you’re curious about, these sites might do the trick.

What are some of your experiences with file sharing sites?
