Hello … Is There Anybody Out There?

After reading a couple articles on Entrepreneur’s Journey, I was so hyped and inspired I retweeted one of the articles and decided to say hello to my twitter friends.

Maybe it wasn’t good timing.

Maybe it was just bots.

Nobody responded.

Am I doing something wrong here?

Instead what I got was a long list of recent promotions and links elsewhere. It seems down the line my greet was disposed so deep, I felt my voice silenced itself before it even spoke.

This has probably happened to all of us in our online life one way or another. It happens to me all the time and for some reason it’s in the back of my mind no longer important.

I use to think that it was because I had no value, no voice, no ability to captivate an audience but now that I think about it, that’s something I will continue to strive. It will be something which I will put effort into because in real life, it’s also relevant.

Sociability should be seen for what it is, for keeping in touch with relationships which we’ll nurture and grow with. But I’m too distracted with work at times, the simple matters which makes our lives more significant is ignored.

If we can put in a little effort each day to reach out to our brethren, our peers, how much better would our lives be if we’re able to share ourselves and enjoy some company at the same time. In fact, I wish I had nurtured the relationships I was building because it would have been nice to have a ‘fine, thank you‘.

Instead, the reminder that life online is about the hustle that it’s relevant in reality too.

So what am I going to do to change this?

I’m going to continue to say hello each time I go on twitter. I will start off my tweets with a hello and continue to find friends which will eventually say hello back.

Through consistently doing what I started, I want to share the simplicity of being myself. Then once I’ve reach pass the hello stage, I’ll keep the conversation going by asking where the person is from, what’s their background and how long they have been online doing what they’re doing.

I want to take the time out to learn more about my neighbors and my potential business partners if I may ever so find one.  I want to listen to what they want but it seems they want to send me elsewhere.

Now, Twitter is a great platform to converse in and I enjoy the micro-blogging much that it’s like chat without all the unnecessary info. 140 characters and you’re solid. But perhaps we’re taking the marketing side of it too far and forget sometimes we’re human.

So before I close out tonight’s post, why don’t you tweet me a hello, I’ll be sure to tweet one back.

What are some of your experiences with getting traffic to your blog? How long was it before anyone noticed you?

Appreciate the greets. You know your site isn’t bad itself. The only thing you got that I wish I had was a product.
Gonna grab that Twitter Tools Book you got available. It’s awesome that someone else thinks of Twitter in the same way as I do and really has the proof too!
