The 100 Comments Challenge brought with it an eclectic mix of bloggers from all over the blogoverse. I had a wonderful time learning more about each blogger and who they are in terms of providing value and influence. More than that, I’m grateful to Jacinta Dean over at Creating My Online Business who started this challenge.
Without her ‘bimbo idea’ as she calls it, the possibility of making it happen couldn’t be done. So thanks for letting it out Jacinta, you’re changing the blogosphere one comment at a time.
If this is your first time here, 100 Comments Challenge has a few simple rules:
- Choose a post you want everyone to comment on
- Install the necessary plugins for dofollow
- Comment on the relevant blogs who are also in the challenge
- Add #100comments to your post so we can also follow you in Twitter
- BONUS: Submit your post to TGIF Links and get the stumbles, tweets, likes it deserves! Read TGIF Links review and sign up FREE! Cheryl Ragsdale the webmaster is also a contributor to the challenge.
What plugins you need will be described fully in Jacinta’s challenge. Point is you want to provide valuable feedback on other bloggers sites. Doing so brings back good karma to your blog and alerts everyone else on the list to do the same.
Making It Personal
Before I started the challenge, I wanted to commit myself to the process. One way I was able to put that enthusiasm to work was by making the buttons which could be shared with other bloggers in the challenge. Moreover, a graphical element is what usually makes other bloggers react. So that interactive element brought me closer to the other bloggers in the challenge.
I decided to document my ongoing blog challenge to let other bloggers see how effective communication can be if the desire to do so is presented. Thus, this challenge taught me some things:
- incentives build motivation
- team players bring a sense of continuity
- building relationships is everything
The Contributors
Jacinta has a separate page for the contributors in the 100 Blog Comments Challenge so I will list them below follow by a short description of the article and blogger as I have come to know them. Please feel free to visit and comment on any blogs you see below to find out more about the authors.
Here’s the list of the participants in this challenge:
Feel free to tweet, like and share this post and spread the love!
001 – Jacinta Dean (http://creatingmybusinessonline.com/)
- The 100 Blog Comment Challenge – The post that started this challenge. Jacinta Dean is a student of John Thornhill’s Internet Marketing Masterclass Coaching Program. She documents her ongoing studies on her masterclass page. Residing in Australia, she has been in many sectors of the market in the real world and it wasn’t until she had a baby that she thought about working from home. A jack of all trades, she never stops learning. Her blog is a treasure trove of internet marketing information.
002 – Noelle Grandison (http://www.noellegrandison.com/)
- How I’ve Failed … And How I’m Going to Fix It – Noelle has a lot going on but she’s determined to succeed. She only needs to overcome her fears first and not let the past predict her future. Also a student of John Thornhill, Noelle is just beginning to blog online and so far, working with individuals who also align with her purpose makes her committed to the process.
003 – Steve King (http://www.weekend-golfers.com/blog)
- Setting SMARTER Goals – There’s something about setting goals that ties in with golf and Steve makes it connect seamlessly. Getting to the specifics of the process of anything you do whether it’s golf or even blogging, you can make it happen with SMARTER goals. Never really understood golf but I got love now for the game of constant improvement. Steve maintains the site at Weekend Golfers, blogs as well as coach golfers through challenging you to become better.
004 – Alex Fyfe (http://alexfyfe.com/)
- Making Exercise More Fun – Alex makes exercise fun. Not only that he’s passionate about spreading the love he has towards the blogosphere to get bodies moving. As I read through this article, I felt motivated to get on that Wii Fitness Program I’ve been meaning to finish. After all, it’s about being creative and having fun. Alex makes working out seem fun and I’m sure he’ll motivate you to do the same.
005 – Terry Conti (http://terryconti.com/)
- Sell your ebook on it’s own or put it on Clickbank? What do you think? – With this article, I responded saying I would rather sell it on my own first than put it on ClickBank. Reason being that I want to test out the market. While the purpose is to profit, the overall performance matters especially if you want to make more products long-term. It is here I learned Terry has a large team of members who keeps him afloat. It is the beauty of support that any online endeavor is made a success. Overall, it helps with the information overload which Terry has finally gotten rid of.
006 – Steve Wilkins (http://www.steve-wilkins.com/)
- Technology is Changing and So Should Your Business – There was a video which Steve shared with us. In it how the world and jobs are changing depends on the technology that is developing today and tomorrow. In fact, the jobs that will be available might not be known until the technology come out. With that Steve challenges us with what resources do we use that are FREE. I answered Google’s suite of documents, e-mail, search and etc. Even though Google is the powerhouse online, it still provides the basic necessities for online users. Steve is a full-time internet marketer who shares his ideas and newfound blueprints on his blog.
007 – Mandy Allen (http://mandyallen.com/)
- How do you relax? – This was a fun post because it was short and sweet. I’m also beginning to like seeing the buttons on the blogs.
To answer this question I thought about what it is that helps me relax as most of the time, blogging itself is relaxing. However in giving my feedback it seems commenting is a way to relax as well especially when it’s on a topic which you like. Mandy has come from many trades from banking, accounting, youth services and spiritual groups. Her vast variety of skill makes her a very valuable blogger to share ideas with.
008 – Gert Chappell (http://gertchappell.info)
- The Dream Stealer – This is a beautiful post on not letting yourself become defeated by yourself. No matter what it is you do in life, you are your own worst enemy. I believe it’s true and Gert’s story was very touching as she describes her stolen dream. Gert is a mum to 4 and grandma to 2. She’s hoping to escape the 9-5 as she blogs about her interest with marketing online.
009 – Barry Wells (http://barry-wells.com/)
- Bloggers: Need A Little Lift? – I like the way Barry discloses how he constructs article writing starting with research then towards finding the best keyword. This was really helpful because he didn’t throw all the technical jargon at you, he tells you how it is. As I will be doing article marketing soon, I found it to be helpful information. So I appreciate Barry for sharing his thoughts. Barry is internet marketer from the UK. His story of how he found the internet is short and sweet. Basically, he found eBay and the rest unfolds towards marketing online and blogging today.
010 - Janice Lawrenz (http://janice-lawrenz.com/)
- Words That Influence Us – We are all inspired by someone else’s words and even that which we don’t understand but find beauty in it. As I don’t quote things as much as I use to, living in reality has given me more food for thought than quoting that which I may use wrong. However, without language though, there is no love. With the marketing language for example, I find the challenges of persuasion an ongoing pursuit.
011 – Mike Shepherd – (http://mike-j-shepherd.com/)
- Writer’s Block – This article confronts Mike’s enthusiasm for blogging but suddenly he’s facing a blockage. So he writes about it in this post. I believe everyone experiences writer’s block. For some, it may be longer but when you face it early on, it will decrease in strength. Also a student of John Thornhill’s Masterclass program, Mike’s article highlights something which we all face as bloggers.
012 – Devesh (Dev) from TechnShare (http://www.technshare.com/)
- Backlinks and Backchat – The Blogger’s Guide to Social Bookmarking – Devesh’s site TechnShare is a great multi-authored blog. I’ve had the pleasure to also guest post for him and the writers there are possess great skills in writing informative articles. This one in particular came from Alex Whalley who writes about SEO, backlinking and keyword research a lot. I’ve followed him for awhile and his work is stellar.
013 – Kathy Dobson (http://kathydobson.com/)
- 100 Blog Comments – Kathy is a sweetheart. More than that she’s a very rounded student of John Thornhill, Lee McIntyre and Tyron Shum! I’m amaze at the great information she has on her blog. There’s so much value in her posts and this one in particular she shared a video with Tony Robbins talking about the change in the stock market and what you should do. Must watch!
014 – Keith Alston (http://keith-alston.com/)
- Sell Your PLR Products – Keith is from England and he drives a wagon for a living. It was only 4 years ago that he got into the online marketing niche. Thus, his blog is full of resourceful information. Especially his resource page which has over 556 links! This article on PLR talks about the dos and don’ts of selling PLR. Keith puts it in perspective what other users online are doing out there and how you can get a chunk for yourself from knowing a few things about PLR.
015 – Robyn Campbell (http://robyn-campbell.com/)
- To Continue or Not to Continue, That is the Question – Robyn is a stay at home mom who has an ebook in the works yet she get her writer’s block to overcome it. So with that, this articles details what is the best way to go about continuing something which you’re stuck with. To continue or not? Thus, writer’s block is very common. It’s our fear taking over and blog commenting as I’ve mention is one way of getting the keys typing.
016 – John McNally (http://johnmcnally54.com/)
- Blog Hopping For Traffic – John is from England and not only that, he’s a 17 times marathon runner. Retired and working from home, John looks absolutely great on his About page. The article for this challenge is about blog commenting which is also known as blog hopping to John Thornhill’s students. That’s a term which I thought was peculiar but eventually it sinked in. John explains why it’s great and why he does it.
017 – Lisa Hernandez (http://www.rooniehernandez.com/)
- How Did I Get Here? – Lisa revealed a very personal article here as it can be her about page. Working in a factory and a Twitter addict, Lisa has mastered the likes of networking and worked her way towards becoming a great marketer online so that she can stay at home with her hubby, dogs and grandchildren. I really liked this article as it’s personal, full of personality and honestly, inspiring because it chronicles Lisa’s experience from zero to here.
018 – Bill Murney (http://billmurney.com/)
- Research, Research, Research – Bill takes us behind the internet marketing stage and let’s us pierce at the inner workings of hard work, popular needs and profitability. It’s not easy work because there’s a lot of planning involved. Overall, you’re advised to do your research first before you dive into any particular area. Bill is retired and lives in the UK.
019 – Brian Ripley (http://brian-ripley.com/)
- Persistence and Perseverance – Brian has put together a lovely post which collects quotes and wisdom from more than 4 famous people. In it, you’re led through advice and thoughts on positivity that it’s motivating to read and keep note of. Posts like these should be shared and passed along. They help us grow and overall writers like these help us keep the momentum of blogging or whatever it is we may be doing online.
020 – Mark Sherman (http://www.markwsherman.com/)
- Tribute to a Dog and my BEST FRIEND! – Mark’s best friend was recently put to sleep and this post was a touching tribute to him. It reminds me of my own dog, which I cringe to think about him sleeping anytime soon. While his senses may be leaving him slowly, it’s the emotional impact he has that I remember. I see that with Mark in this post as well.
021 – Randy Smith (http://www.randolfsmith.com/)
- Warning – Gurus Are Like Governments! – This was a rather long post but Randy details some of the things why he believe successful internet marketers can be like politicians when they only think of protecting their assets and rich friends. Thus, I’ve learned Randy has been in the online business for over 10 years and has made quite a few products online. Not only that, they’re affordable and he keeps it at that because he believes there’s value in the information found not the price. He’s been in the Sales field for many years until he went online full-time to over a decade ago.
022 – Dave Smith (http://dave-smith.org/)
- Your Own Online Business – Build a Niche Blogging Business – Intro – Dave’s intro to the series of articles he will be writing about is interesting. As it is packed with a lot of tips and strategies to which one who is or will be doing niche marketing will find valuable. The series is divided into 9 sections and the blog itself is filled with a lot of news, bits and internet marketing information dating back to February 2009. Also a student of John Thornhill, Dave takes his marketing business online seriously.
023 – Dawn Kay (http://dawnkaysblog.com/)
- How to Create Your Own Information Products Fast – Dawn came up with six great ways in which you can find ideas to create your next information product. Quickly! Not only that she’s walking the talk through three other sites with her own ebook store, private label rights membership, and brandable ebooks. If you subscribe to her e-mail list, you’ll find that she’s giving out internet marketing blueprints and checklists every month. Worth checking out!
024 – Stan Young (http://stanyoung.com/)
- The Naked Chef Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution- Teaching kids how to eat healthy and the debate over a “Fat Tax” – Stan integrated marvelously a post about Jamie Oliver’s new show ‘Food Revolution’ which came out this year and as I watched it, change among the unhealthiest city in America doesn’t come easily. However, this post is beyond promoting the show, it’s more about Stan’s ability to weave lifestyle choices into his articles. Thus, Stan is a life coach, home business entrepreneur with a track record of years on his belt. He writes with the enthusiasm for life and teaches you to see the same too.
025 – Jose Perez (http://jose-r-perez.com/)
- Prepare to track keywords when buying traffic – Jose’s post on tracking your campaigns and then sending visitors to a squeeze page is right on the money as it’s not about shooting blank bullets. You want to capture your interested readers. A squeeze page helps you align them with further products through subscribing them to your e-mail list. As I have reviewed Alex Jeffreys in the past, Jose is a student of his. He is from Mexico. His purpose, to provide, care and be around his three boys as much as he can. Internet marketing just might let him do that. Thus, his blog is an online journal of his journey.
026 – Jason Ser (http://www.jasonser.com/)
- [The Bigger Life] What’s the Most Powerful Life Changing Inspirational Life Quotes of Your Life? – Jason’s post opened up a comment which I have to say brought me closer to bringing in my dad’s quote:
‘I know who I am and what I do. I can’t talk about something I don’t know but I talk about something I know I can do, because I’ve done it!’
- With that, I’ve learned where I’ve got my hard working ethics from. Not only that, Jason’s blog is one of immense connection through spirit and mind as his philosophy of life is called following ‘The Way of the Free Spirit Master’. It’s interested as he’s very detailed and dead serious about accomplishing it and I’m going to keep a close eye as this is something worth being enlightened with.
027 – John Edler (http://johnedler.com/)
- Sticky Memory – have I coined a new term? - I was not able to comment on the site as I think it is turned off however I will give you my comment here. John’s post superbly brought in a classical term of Socratic Dialectic and coined it to modern times to Sticky Memory. The gist of it is knowledge becomes transferred from one person to another but the upholding the information remains when you own it. Thus, the point of realization in understanding happens when you take the information and internalize it. So it has nothing to do with the person who has given it to you or ‘inspiration’ so to speak. John’s take on this provides a refreshing thought as he takes on his blog with that fervor as well.
028 – Vance Sova (http://www.vancesova.com/)
- Build Your Opt In List With Any WP Theme Using Squeeze Plugin – I’ve met Vance over on John Chow’s blog when we both reviewed John’s new book. Although I don’t participate in the conversations as much as Vance, I have seen him featured on John’s blog in a blog review. This post in particular follows Vance’s expertise with finding the latest and greatest tools to help you market better. Here, Vance introduces you to the Squeeze plugin just released by Unique Blog Designs. He also asks questions to the product developer which further helped you understand how the plugin worked. Overall, Vance’s blog is rich in internet marketing information. Beginner or veteran alike will find it worthwhile to read.
029 – Michael Pedzotti (http://nine95.com/)
- Guess who is guest posting - Michael here surprises me with a review of a plugin through which I will be now using called the SEO Super Comments. What it does is puts your commentators in a special page of their own where so that you can see the history of which they have commented. Thus, they have a post through which is similar to a guest post on your site. However, you can’t comment to what was commented. But this is helpful for administrator as well as interested readers who want to see more of what a reader has said. Great for building further online relations.
030 – Barry Williams (http://barry-williams.com/)
- My Secret Blog Idea Plan – How To Appear Extweemly, Extweemly Intelligent – I really enjoyed this post as Barry really lightened up about blogging online and went ahead and unraveled for you his process for writing articles online. Not only that, he has entertained you enough that you get the idea. It’s quite unforgettable. Barry’s sense of humor makes his blog work and thus with internet marketing, this goes a long way.
031 – Pete Chapman (http://pete-chapman2.com/)
- The Great Escape (or start a ‘work from home’ internet business and change your life) – Pete gets really passionate about change as he instills in you a historical scenario in the struggle of prisoners. This analogy ties in greatly with your mindset for succeeding. As if you think of it in terms of the other end, survival is about making it happen and that’s the same with any idea you want to undertake.
032 – John Reed (http://www.major-reviews.com/)
- Broken Links vs Prioritizing – John reviews quite a handful of programs and services online. Recently, he has been experiencing broken links on his site and thus, through his host D9 which many other bloggers also use, the support has helped him get back on track. This post in particular updates the reader on what’s to come.
